At NOCKNOCK ART FAIR in Amsterdam, Dutch architect and designer Osiris Hertman will unveil his latest creations. The featured table and cabinet exemplify Osiris’ innovative approach to materiality, combining two-direction rolled high-gloss stainless steel legs with Japanese Shou Sugi Ban–style charred wood to create a dialogue between reflection and texture.
His mirror wall sculptures, tables, and cabinets go beyond their polished surfaces. Reflections and layers shift between bold, almost rock ‘n roll statements and softer, more atmospheric moments. The works create subtle depth and movement, as if the composition could continue to unfold within the space.
Working across several studios in the Netherlands, Osiris brings together the disciplines required for his practice. A steel studio for welding and polishing stainless steel, a ceramics studio for producing ceramic elements, and his painting studio in Haarlem, where he finishes surfaces with transparent varnishes and paints.

Osiris Hertman onthult nieuw werk op NOCKNOCK Art Fair
Tijdens de NOCKNOCK Art Fair (5-8 maart) presenteert de Nederlandse architect en ontwerper Osiris Hertman nieuw werk. De tentoongestelde tafel en kast illustreren Osiris’ innovatieve benadering van materialen, tweezijdig gewalste, hoogglanzende roestvrijstalen poten worden gecontrasteerd met Japans Shou Sugi Ban-achtig gebrand hout, waardoor een opvallende dialoog tussen reflectie en textuur ontstaat.
Zijn spiegel wandsculpturen, tafels en kasten gaan verder dan hun gepolijste oppervlakken. Reflecties en lagen verschuiven tussen gedurfde, bijna rock ‘n roll achtige statements en zachtere, meer atmosferische momenten. De werken creëren subtiele diepte en beweging, alsof de compositie zich in de ruimte verder zou kunnen ontvouwen. Werkend vanuit verschillende ateliers in Nederland combineert hij de disciplines die nodig zijn. Een staalatelier voor het lassen en polijsten van roestvrij staal, een keramiek atelier voor het maken van keramische poten en in zijn atelier in Haarlem worden oppervlakken afgewerkt met transparante lakken en verf.
