Although I often hear people say I’m probably constantly changing things around the house, I consider myself quite consistent. Since I bought my new sofa two years ago, I haven’t really bought or changed anything major other than painting walls or getting a new lamp. While I love watching others move around with new furniture and come across new tables, stools, and other small pieces often enough. I am not often tempted to actually buy something and I easily pass it by.
Zara Home is truly one of my favorite stores to frequent, and I’m sometimes tempted to pick something up. I think I’ve decluttered enough by now that I’ve only kept the accessories I really love, and I do rotate those. So the few things I occasionally buy for my home are usually for my kitchen.
New Favourite cabinet
Sometimes, however, it’s love at first sight, and even then I usually wait a while to see if that love lasts. Ribbed glass has been a favorite of mine for ages, as I wrote about this kitchen. So it was inevitable that I’d finally fallen head over heels for this small wooden cabinet with ribbed glass and had to take it home. I immediately had a spot in mind for it. And I think it would look beautiful on the gray wall in colour Paris of my collaboration with We Are Wow Makers. I also changed my Ay Illuminate lamp from black net to simple white cotton.
The cabinet also comes in a larger version, and I love that one too. It has a real Japanese vibe, I show it at the end of the post. Unfortunately, unless you live in Paris, you can’t see it in person in stores. Which I find quite difficult with larger items. I do like the idea of bringing a real piece of furniture or a cabinet back into my living room. Besides that, I’m still happy with my homemade long bench, which is ideal for the small still lifes I enjoy creating.
