The Skin I Live In – A Meeting Between Saba & Alysi

The Skin I Live In – A Meeting Between Saba & Alysi

On our last day in Milan while heading to our apartment we visited a few exhibitions at Tortona and I particularly liked ‘ The Skin I Live in’ at the Garden House by Alysia, a beautiful and installation by Saba and Alysi  by Studiopepe and  Around Studio. Studiopepe created a story where design and fashion meet and where clothing and furniture become one. With artwork by illustrator Clorophilla, and delicate handcrafted details, the atmosphere feels intimate and poetic. A celebration of feminine creativity and the beauty of what surrounds and protects us.

The Garden House  by Alysi, was a peaceful  light space where we loved to stay a bit longer. The installation explores the relationship between body, clothing, and space. The main element  was Simposio, a modular sofa by Saba, soft and welcoming after all the steps we made . Its curved lines and gentle folds reminds of ancient draped fabrics, like a Greek peplum. I thought it was a really beautiful detail of the sofa, and single seats. The sofa itself is dressed in natural textiles by House of Lyria, blending perfectly with the space. Just like skin, these materials follow form and feeling, calm, tactile, and quietly expressive.
