Every year during Milan Design Week, I look forward to visiting Dimorestudio. Previously at via Solferino where large ques of visitors slowly worked their way up to the Studio, this year Dimore created different collaborations and with four unique presentations across the city. From vintage cinematic moods to tactile textile stories, and from cinematic interiors to behind-the-scenes creativity, each installation offered a new perspective on Dimore’s universe.
Let me take you with me and share a look at the four locations I viisted. I decided to show the four locations in two different posts to make the post not to long. Here are the first two: Loro Piana x Dimore milano – La Prima Notte di Quiete and Yves Salomon Editions & Dimorestudio I hope you enjoy! I will add some more images in a reel on my Instagram and would really appreciate if you let me know there how you like the work of Dimore this year!
Loro Piana x Dimore milano – La Prima Notte di Quiete
At Cortile della Seta, the Milanese headquarters of Loro Piana, a dreamlike installation unfolded behind velvet curtains. For the first time, Loro Piana and Dimoremilano joined forces for Milan Design Week with La Prima Notte di Quiete, a cinematic and immersive project where design and storytelling meet. Entering through a vintage inspired cinema foyer, complete with deep red drapes, leopard-print carpet, and moody lighting. From the first step, it felt more like stepping into a scene than a showroom.
What we saw next was a quiet and emotional journey through a beautifully staged house. Each room—from the entrance to the garden—was fully furnished with pieces designed by Dimorestudio for Loro Piana Interiors, mixed with Dimoremilano classics, antiques, and curated art from galleries like Tornabuoni Art and Cardi Gallery. Rich fabrics in cashmere, wool, and velvet wrapped the space in warmth, while the carefully selected textures created a calm, sensory experience.
The house wasn’t just styled, it was narrated like a film—a slow, quiet story told in rooms instead of scenes. Earthy tones, tactile finishes, and elegant silhouettes gave the entire space a cinematic softness. Every detail, from the brass wall lamps to the soft sisal carpets, contributed to the atmosphere of what Dimorestudio describes as a refuge—a place where time slows down and the noise of the world fades out.
The title, La Prima Notte di Quiete meaning The First Night of Quiet, captured this feeling perfectly. It was about more than just aesthetics, it was about designing a mood and a moment of stillness.
Yves Salomon Editions & Dimorestudio
One of the more atmospheric exhibitions I visited was the collaboration between Yves Salomon Éditions and Dimorestudio. Inspired by the decorative world of Carlo Bugatti, the collection brings together experimental materials, vintage references, and a rich mix of textures. From metal structures to recycled mink and shearling, these pieces reimagine Bugatti’s ornate style in a contemporary voice.
The story behind the collection is as personal as it is creative. After a meeting between Yves Salomon and Tamara Taichman and Dimorestudio’s founders Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, a shared admiration for Bugatti’s sculptural furniture quickly turned into a desire to co-create. What emerged is a bold, five-piece furniture series that plays with contrasts: minimal frames wrapped in intricate fur intarsia, fringes in mink, and colors and textures that nod to the glam of the 70s while echoing the structure of Art Deco and mid-century design.
Each piece stands on its own—there’s a black lacquered chaise in Mongolian lamb that you can roll and move, and a Sputnik-style armchair made of eglomise steel rods with a suspended shearling seat. Every item combines functionality with high craftsmanship, referencing traditional inlay techniques, but with fur and leather in place of wood. I had the pleasure to visit the exhibition on my last day in Milan and had the space almost to myself.
