ABC Stone is stepping into the world of furniture, and chose interior designer Cara Woodhouse as their first collaborator in this new space. It’s the Classic Rock capsule collection, the first partnership for the two brands. In it you’ll find nine pieces in five marble colorways – Grand Antique, Calacatta Viola, Arabescato Corchia, Pink Onyx, and Silver Travertine. When paired with Italian blocks of stone the unrefined meets the refined.
In fact, the collection is an ode to Woodhouse’s own personal obsession with stone. “Each piece definitely has a bit of my signature design style, very curvaceous and elevated. I am always drawn to circular and curved rather than sharp edges. It’s more inviting to me and a luxurious feeling having a sense of softness,” she shared.
The theme of rock and roll juxtaposes the playfulness of the music with the elements of actual rock. The freestanding Rock & Roll Bathtub is likely the biggest statement, with storied marble and solid brass legs. Both the Rolling Stones solid vanity and the Solid Sound sink vanity are incredibly chic in their functions. Two other vanities – the Brass on Marble Styx and the Brass on Brass Styx – bring together curvaceous basins and hard angles of their surfaces. Pieces from the collection that might find a home outside of the bathroom are also included. The Soft Rock shearling and marble accent chair, Rock Out Bench, and Rock Out Stool all use both soft and solid mixed materials for a stylish aesthetic. Lastly, the Beat Side Table makes a great companion to just about all of the pieces mentioned above as it continues the conversation between materials.
Lyndsey Belle Tyler, ABC Stone’s VP of Marketing and Creative Director, said, “Cara brought such a fun, instinctual air to the process. She just ran with the idea and we ended up with something that truly elucidates the magic of stone as an element and really highlights its transformational qualities. This collection is literally stone art. We want those who integrate these pieces into their projects and spaces to understand that they are investing in a bespoke sculptural object that is meant to spark wonder and joy. No two pieces will ever be the same, because the stone it is created from will never be the same.”
