A Cascading Queenslander Embracing Year-Round Outdoor Living
Cascade House by John Ellway Architect is a project that functions even better than it looks — no easy feat for a home this beautiful!
The house belongs to Jacqueline Kaytar, founder and creative director at Repose, and her family, who moved to Brisbane from Sydney several years ago. They engaged John Ellway Architect to renovate and extend their circa 1900 Paddington home to fully embrace the subtropical environment, their lifestyle, and capacity for year-round outdoor living.
A 65 square metre addition achieved all this and more, replacing a former lean-to and carport with a new kitchen, lounge, and dining area flanked by a pool and north-facing courtyard.
The result is a home that radiates warmth, comfort and beauty, regardless of the weather or time of day.
